Privacy Policy
A clear explanation of what Know handles, why it is needed, who may receive it, and the controls available to you.
Last updated September 10, 2026
Information you give Know
Know handles the information you choose to provide so the app can create your profile, answer questions, and personalize your experience.
- Account and profile details, including your name, username, photo, bio, expertise, and website.
- Questions, chat messages, attachments, saved content, feedback, ratings, and answer corrections.
- Creator knowledge such as uploaded files, direct notes, website links, and public social content you connect.
- Subscription choices, access limits, and transaction status. Full card details are handled by the payment provider, not stored by Know.
Information collected automatically
Know may collect limited technical and usage information needed to operate, secure, and improve the service.
- App version, device and operating-system details, language, and approximate time zone.
- Feature usage, screen interactions, crash reports, performance logs, and security events.
- Know does not access contacts, precise location, photos, microphone, or files unless you choose a feature that needs that permission.
Cookies and website analytics
The Know website loads PostHog to measure page views and how the pages are used. A notice on the site says so, and the “Cookies” link in the website footer shows it again.
- PostHog stores an identifier of its own in your browser, so that repeat visits are recognised as one visitor.
- Website analytics measures use of the website itself; it does not read the content of chats.
- The website carries no advertising and no cross-site tracking.
- If you would rather we did not measure your use of the website, you can block cookies in your browser, or contact us through the support page.
How information is used
- Provide accounts, profiles, chats, creator dashboards, knowledge search, subscriptions, and support.
- Retrieve relevant creator knowledge and generate AI-assisted answers with source context.
- Process uploads, index connected sources, prevent abuse, protect accounts, and diagnose errors.
- Measure product performance and improve answer quality, accessibility, and user experience.
- Send service messages or notifications you enable. Marketing communication should always include an opt-out.
AI, questions, and knowledge sources
Questions and connected knowledge may be processed by AI and infrastructure providers only to deliver the requested feature. AI answers can be incomplete or wrong, so important information should be verified.
Creators control which sources are connected. Public profile information may be visible to other users, while private drafts and private knowledge remain restricted to authorized access.
When a creator connects Instagram, Know imports the direct messages in that account, including messages written by other people. Those messages are used only to learn how the creator answers and to give their AI memory of past conversations. They are never shown to other users, are not used to contact anyone, and are deleted when the creator removes the source or deletes their account. Creators can hide any single message from the AI at any time.
When information is shared
Know does not sell personal information. Information may be shared only as needed to provide or protect the service.
- With hosting, analytics, AI-processing, customer-support, and security providers acting for Know.
- With payment providers and app stores when a purchase or subscription is made.
- With a connected platform when you authorize an integration, subject to that platform’s rules.
- When required by law, to protect safety and rights, or as part of a business transaction with appropriate safeguards.
Retention and deletion
Information is kept only as long as needed for the service, legal obligations, security, dispute resolution, and legitimate business records. Retention periods differ by data type.
You can disconnect sources and remove content from the relevant app controls. Account-deletion requests remove or de-identify information unless retention is legally required. Backups may take additional time to expire.
Your choices and rights
- Review and update profile details and creator knowledge.
- Control notifications and optional device permissions in Know or system settings.
- Disconnect sources, remove uploads, and manage subscriptions through the place of purchase.
- Request access, correction, export, restriction, objection, or deletion where local law provides those rights.
Security and international processing
Know uses reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, but no online service can promise absolute security. Keep your device and account credentials protected.
Service providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where required, Know uses recognized safeguards for international transfers.
Children, changes, and contact
Know is not intended for children below the minimum digital-consent age that applies where they live. If a child's information was provided without valid authorization, contact support.
This policy may change as features or legal requirements change. Material updates will be communicated in the app. Questions or privacy requests can be started through Help & Support in Settings.
This policy describes Know's current product experience. Questions or requests: use Help & Support inside the app, or the support page.
